    Summary

    Sokka was never sent to guard Yue, he was too busy scouting ahead with some of the Northern Tribe warriors before the Siege. He was catch and capture being taking too Zhao's ship. He barely managed to escape with his life due Aang and a giant sea monster. Now he's stranded in the middle of the ocean with no one except Prince Zuko and his uncle for company.

    Sokka should have died, if not from drowning then the burns he received from his time on Zhao's ship. But he survived. Why? Maybe the white streak appearing in his hair may have give him an answer.

     

    Inspired by 'Will We Last the Night' by CSHfic, VSfic but with Moon Spirit Sokka AU
    ie: Sokka never makes it out of the North Pole with Aang and Katara. He travels through the Earth Kingdom with Zuko and his Uncle instead.

    "The young warlord will be here in two weeks time," Lord Ozai's voice begins to take that passively mocking tone Zuko knows and dreads so well, "In that time, we will negotiate the treaty and that savage chief will decide if you are a worthy war prize to wed or not."

    "War prize?!" Zuko gasps looking up, obedience be damned. "Wed? I am a prince. The crown prince! I am not a war prize. I will not marry some water tribe chief."

    "You will," Ozai says, "You have to."

    OR aang isnt found and sokka is left to build an army in hopes of defeating the Fire Lord. Desperate times call for Ozai to send in a spy via unconventional methods

    “I know what I am,” he said, as though he had rehearsed it a thousand times in private and never dared say it aloud, “I know what it means in court. I know what it means for succession. I know what it means for people like us to want things we are not supposed to want.”

    Sokka’s hands clenched as Zuko smiled. “But if there is even a chance that I haven’t been alone in this. I would leave everything. I would go with you. Sokka, I- I choose you.”

    The silence behind the curtain did not last. A hand grabbed the fabric from the other side and yanked it aside so hard the rods groaned. Light spilled between the two rooms.

    And with it, so did the faces. Too many faces. Zuko’s breath stopped completely. For a fraction of a second, no one moved. Then Chief Arnook stepped forward. His face was red, not with embarrassment, but with fury that had nowhere to go.

    Sokka and Zuko are best friends, despite political duty slowly pulling them apart. When a marriage is arranged between Prince Zuko and Princess Yue to secure an alliance, Sokka believes he has been betrayed and plans a genius plan to stop the marriage, but the plan spirals far beyond his control.
