Day 12: Yearning
He was wrong. Mu Qing came back out of guilt, not care or love. Feng Xin threw the bags of rice Mu Qing had brought at his feet as Mu Qing walked away.
That was his last memory of him.
He regretted it. Maybe if he chose a different decision, Mu Qing would be with him. Maybe they could’ve worked out their differences.
But it had been 800 years since that incident. Mu Qing had never ascended despite his cultivation training.
He was dead.

Summary
All noble-born Feng Xin has known his entire life is to walk the path that his predecessors have laid out before him and marry anybody that his parents chose for him. His life is boring- the only thing that he really enjoys is spending quality time with his family and practicing archery in the forest near his home. That changes when he meets a poor yet strikingly beautiful boy around his age, Mu Qing. His first impression of Mu Qing is quite questionable- Mu Qing looked like an untouchable young immortal, ignorance and arrogance etched on his face.
Feng Xin and Mu Qing eventually become friends, and a few years later, Feng Xin manages to hire Mu Qing as a personal servant.
One day, after a very successful competition between several noble families, Feng Xin manages to win first place. He is now of the right age to marry, and his overjoyed father makes the massive decision to allow Feng XIn to marry who he desires. Though he understands that his father is making a strange decision perhaps due to the heat of the moment, Feng Xin takes his chances. After all, they do say that a gentleman's word is worth its weight in gold.
