    Bruce tried to force his mouth into an approximation of a smile.

    Nine-year-old Dick cannot sleep - he asks Batman for help, but even the hero sometimes struggles to go to bed on time.

    While on a visit in Gotham, Dick gets poisoned by an unknown toxin - Bruce and Jason try their very best to keep him alive.

    It was said after a long grueling patrol that involved large parts of the family, not a whole lot of progress on a human trafficking case, and a yelling match between Batman and Robin because of a video game. Dick was almost 70% sure Bruce was joking.

    And yet he couldn’t ignore how angry that comment made him. Dick had fought for Damian, he had bled for him, he would have gladly given up his life just so Damian could live… and here Bruce was, secure enough in his position as Damian’s father, to simply joke about giving him away.

    Angered by Bruce's joke and fueled by his own guilt, Dick decides to confront Batman the only way he knows how: using his fists.
