Більше не занімілий перед відчуття тепла мозолистих пальців на його щоці. І ось це якраз той самий тягар, котрий стає дедалі важчим, котрий стає щораз нелегше ігнорувати. Це те, на що він не дивитиметься надто довго, аби не усвідомити раптом, що це все насправді означає.

На Реґулусів захист, він не має наміру перетворювати Джеймса Поттера на вампіра.
Його плани значно простіші. Він має на меті викрасти хлопця, який збив його брата зі шляху істинного, трохи розважитися, катуючи його тиждень чи два, вбити, а потім кинути тіло Сіріусу на поріг, тільки й того. Можливо, вирізати «Від Р.А.Б., з любов'ю» на його грудях для драматичного ефекту.

Реґулус любить бути неслухняним хлопчиком. Він часто забуває про своє місце, переходить межі і робить речі, котрі не мав би робити. І Джеймсу постійно доводить нагадувати йому поводитись відповідно, доводиться допомагати йому прийти до тями, іноді навіть не словами, а чимось набагато важчим, наприклад тростиною. І Реґулус отримує від цього надто велике задоволення. Зрештою, Реґулус буквально благає про покарання, а Джеймс більш ніж щасливий дати Реґулусу все, на що той заслуговує.
