Summary
Chase wants to run away. He wants to curl up into a ball and rock himself back and forth the way a parent would soothe a child, even though he does not know what that is like. He wants someone to look him in the eye and just lie and say that they’re both going to be fine and he has nothing to worry about.
He has never gotten what he wanted. And he cannot make his feet move, so he stands there as the nurses make House comfortable, working around him because they know better than to try to ask him to leave. They know Chase. They know House. And yet they are able to treat him the way they would treat anyone else.
(alternatively, house slips into a coma and chase can only blame one person: himself)

Matt tore out of the bed, barely making it to the adjoining bathroom before he’d fallen to his knees and vomited into the toilet.
His fingers spasmed against the porcelain.
They were not covered in blood, sliding over his father’s cold, hard skin. They were not covered in blood, slipping on the phone and making it hard to dial 911. They were not covered in blood, leaving marks on the carpet as he hunched over and vomited all over the floor.
Matt dreams of his father's death but Sylvie is there to comfort him. For Febuwhump Day 4 prompt: nightmares.

They just hit the 1 year mark. Their anniversary was today. Matt moved to Oregon exactly 15 months ago and they were both feeling it.
Some days were better than others, but none of them were easy. Between the missed calls, forgotten texts, and the shorter visits, they were about to give up. But they knew that breaking up would be 100 times worse. They called every 2 days and texted daily, but the texts were shorter and more rushed. They both loved each other more than words will ever describe but they barely had any time to prepare for this.
They pinned about each other for so long, denying their feelings, not knowing if the other felt the same. After 3 long, miserable years they finally got it right. But then it was taken away from them.
Sylvie would never blame the boys. They were going through something no kid their age should have too. They needed the best support system and that was Matt. He cared so deeply, loved so strongly, and from personal experience - he gave the best hugs.

She knows this is ridiculous, but it makes her feel a bit better about him leaving the next day. Matt is humoring her, as he usually does and grinning knowingly at her through her phone screen.
“See? Facetime is a bit better than a phone call right?” Matt asks encouragingly.
She’s sitting on the foot of her bed with her door closed while he’s lounging on her couch in the living room. She insisted they “practice” a facetime call so they could both get used to it. (Though truthfully, this silly gesture is more for her benefit than Matt’s and they both know it.)
“I can see your gorgeous face and you can see my less attractive one—“
“Hey!” She interrupts, with an indignant but teasing grin. “That’s my boyfriend you’re talking about, and I happen to think his face is particularly handsome.”
He shrugs with a lopsided grin. “Even if that’s true, I’ll still prefer looking at your face to my own any day of the week. In person, on a screen, in a photo — whatever way we choose.”

They walk into Molly’s together, despite driving separately. It’s still early in the day, barely after one in the afternoon. The bar isn’t even technically open to the public yet, but for 51 Herrmann always makes an exception.
Stella spots them as the door opens and smiles brightly, waving before she stoops back over to restock the bottled beers in the cooler under the bar.
“Hey, you two!” She calls, voice muffled by the bar. She pops back up and focuses a curious lifted brow on Sylvie. “How was the omelette truck? Was it weird and full of hipsters? Did Grainger hate it as I know most smoke eaters would?”
Sylvie’s eyes widen and a blush floods her cheeks as he and Stella stare at her, waiting for an answer. The deer in the headlights look is not one he sees on her very often. On himself, sure, but on Sylvie? It’s pretty rare.
“Um, you know, we didn’t end up eating there,” she answers vaguely, fingers fiddling with the buckle on her watch band. “They were swamped. It was gonna take longer than it was probably worth.” She stops, clears her throat awkwardly, and revives her genuine beaming smile from the doctor’s office. “We’re here to celebrate and day drink!”
