Summary

I want all of you to give him warm welcome and make him feel part of team.” Shane’s heart all but stopped beating as Ilya looked at him with his blue eyes. There was no spark there, not what Shane was used to whenever Ilya had previously looked at him. Now, it was simply indifference. “Welcome to the team, Hollzy. If any of these bastards give you hard time, let me know.”
Ilya never called him that before. It had always been Hollander, until that last time, when he was Shane. But never Hollzy.
His plan to win Ilya back might be harder than he initially expected.

Summary
The Montreal Metros didn't take the news of Shane's and Ilya's relationship well.
Shane would've never thought that their hatred could run this deep, until he finds himself lying half-conscious on the floor, with blood coating his lips and face.
In the aftermath, Shane tries to protect Ilya as much as he can, not wanting to bother him with his fears.
For Ilya it feels like Shane doesn't want him anymore, which causes him to spiral.
orAU fic set after Shane and Ilya's involuntary outing. A few teammates attack Shane. Ilya freaks out. Shane shuts everyone out. The following weeks are hell. Shane has to learn to overcome his fears.
Edit: This fic is complete but is currently edited (fixing grammar and spelling mistakes), and will be reuploaded chapter by chapter (so don't mind the "completed" date). Chapter 1-7 have now been edited.

For a moment, nothing happens. Then, about thirty seconds later, Ilya blinks once, then again, his expression tightening as confusion slowly takes over, trying to make sense of something that’s supposed to be impossible. Shane immediately knows that he’s freaking out.
You’re freaking out right now, aren’t you? Please don’t freak out. Because if you freak out, then I’m going to freak out.
“What the fuck?” Ilya yells, as he jerks back like he’s been burned, his hand ripping away from Shane’s ankle. His irises dart left to right crazily, locked in on Shane’s face as he searches for something. Shane stays silent. “What the fuck was that?”
OR: Shane and Ilya develop telepathy while being in a situationship. It goes as well as you’d expect.
