it was such a petty thing to admit, but he liked ilia better like this. when he was quiet. ilia said some very stupid things when he was with andrew. but honestly, regardless of how sappy or embarrassing they were, he loved it. he got a weird sort of ego boost when he was with ilia. it felt risky, and sometimes it felt wrong. but ilia was so perfect and andrew was so… not.
ilia was a phenomenon. he was somehow very unintelligent, very talented, and also very needy. it was a lethal combination. a combo that was even more dangerous when alcohol was thrown into the mix. andrew was the same way though. he remembered that night in albany.

One of the many things that comes with gaining so much publicity, Ilia has quickly learned, is that people love to imagine him in relationships with other people; for whatever reason. So, as his luck would have it, a viral tweet from a parody account joking about the relationship between two of the internet’s favourite blond skaters devolves into nothing less than an internet phenomenon.
Morbid curiosity gets the better of him, and Ilia decides to take a step out of lurking—on a burner account, of course. Little does he know, the account that he keeps seeing and interacting with happens to be another golden-haired boy hidden behind his own secret account.
