Summary
Regina was five when a bus hit her, shattering her back. Years of rehabilitation and numerous surgeries later, she is mostly able-bodied. She is so able-bodied in fact, she consistently ranks top ten in her class in girls doubles beach volleyball. Notably, she is an AA player, and even places at US open tournaments with her double, Gretchen Wiener. But Regina's 'perfect' world come crashing down when Gretchen decides to quit, vaguely citing the 'pressure' of competing at such a high level. Just when Regina thinks it can't get any worse, she is newly paired with the beach volleyball prodigy Cady Heron, who she despises but plays weirdly well with. There is something Regina just can not stand about the new Kenyan prodigy, something that she has no time to explore.
