Yamaguchi arranges the last of the cones, the mops, in their corner. The gym is lit from top to bottom and utterly empty. “Karasuno,” he tries. In the silence his voice is small, its sound thin and reedy as ever. “Fight.”
He curls a fist against the doorknob.
“Karasuno. Fight.”
(Or: it's senior year, and Yamaguchi is Karasuno's captain.)

Summary
If Spider had been Na’vi, his songcord would’ve been started at his birth, and would’ve been carefully curated by his parents until he was old enough to work on it himself, incorporating special and important moments onto it until it spelled out the song of his life, as he wanted to tell it. But Spider wasn’t Na’vi, and he’d never gotten to have one.
Nobody ever helped him compose his song. Nobody ever sang the story of his life. And wasn’t that the saddest thing in the world?

Summary
Electricity ripples through his side, and pain explodes in his body. He collapses onto his stomach, shoulder slamming onto the harsh metal first. He doesn’t register the pain… because it’s nothing compared to the sight below him.
His eyes lock onto the water, seeing Neteyam sink below the water. The once clear blue colour quickly turns red, blocking his field of vision.
“Neteyam!” Lo’ak tries one last time, scrambling to get up but all he gets is the same rod being jammed into his side. He yells, the sound ripped out of him when electricity courses through his body. He’s roughly grabbed by his kuru again, pulling him up. Pain explodes in his brain, but all he can think about is his brother.
Or: Neteyam survives getting shot, but Lo'ak is captured by the RDA

Jake has to find a way to explain the lack of… people in the Tree of Souls, all without traumatising his oldest son.
Or; Jake finally comes to terms with the importance of talking about his past life when one of his kids asks about it.
