    Shepard's heart has been broken since the fatal sword wound to her lover, leaving her lost and feeling alone in the galaxy. Only the thought of destroying the human that caused her so much pain, then destroying the Reapers who brought so much more pain into the lives of those around her, has kept her going.

    When the apparition appears taking on the form of a child, giving her the so-called choices she could make, its words ended her indecision. The flash and heat from the explosion were tremendous. She was on her way to Kalahira's shores. It was her last thought as she succumbed to the pain.

    When she woke up on a shore, she was wet, cold, shivering and naked. When a green scaled hand reached for her she was ecstatic, she made it, she's reunited with her love. That is until she realized that hand had five fingers and much larger scales.

Even though Shepard is a charismatic badass, I've wondered if it could ever just be a really good act. What if they're extremely shy and introverted, and they were "highly encouraged" to join the Alliance."

    Portrait of a Shepard who is by temperament and choice...a straight arrow of a nerdy person, introverted and shy, working hard to maintain a persona of fire breathing force of nature.

    Starts in ME1, AU afterward, Shepard inspiring changes in path and personality in others, which changes the galaxy. Shakarian with Thane insisting on 'it's really complicated' Shrios.

    The reapers are coming, Cerberus is up to no good and surviving collectors still endanger colonies. The Alliance isn't purely human anymore - apt fighters from all races form squads under the command of the Fifth Fleet, giving their best to stop the galaxy from breaking into chaos. Arek Turner, an exceptional human adept, is teamed up with the asari valkyrie Amalthea, the turian engineer Meyrani, and, to his despair, Mojo, all-around turian jerk. The former Ghost Infiltrator is rude, refuses teamwork, and goes out of his way to show his resentment to Arek, bringing out the worst of the usually cheerful everybody's darling. Sick of Mojo's aloof lone wolf attitude, Arek doesn't miss a beat when the chance to provoke him offers itself.

    When stern words and motivational speeches fail, the question isn't if things have to go downhill first, but how far.

    And as though interpersonal conflicts aren't enough, the squad stumbles over some worrisome leads that connect what looked like an every day crime to something bigger. They've witnessed only the tip of the iceberg, but the next step is to convince their captain that more is going on than hunches, coincidences and insubordination.
