Summary
Steve wakes up in the 21st Century. He doesn't think much of it, and it's dubious about him. He meets a Norse God, joins a superhero team, and feels terribly awkward about the whole monument at Arlington he's rendered obsolete by not being dead. Meanwhile, Tony is trying to make his mark on history by being the man who finally drove Nick Fury over the edge.

Reasons why this is good: first and foremost it develops more than just the main parings, I adore when a writer does that! Nice little moments of different characters together that do not involve Tony and Steve but lets their characters shine.
In that vein, I like romance as a subplot, which for me is that there is something else other than the romance is going on and not just the romance. Here I had funny moments, drama and action, which is a heck yeah!
Both pairings, Steve and Tony and Thor and Jane are part of the plot and story as a whole. It’s not like just, yes those two are also a pairing on the background, no, no, they actually feel in the story and impact the other characters around each other.
The team feel like they group of misfits that they are and it’s funny. Basically I love how everything makes sense with every interaction and character, it my favorite part of this kind of stories.
Bonus points for Tony getting kidnapped and bonding with Loki. So yeah, It’s freaking well written. Did not disappoint one bit.

Cross-posting this old kink meme fill from my lj.
Fill for yet another kinkmeme prompt of awesome: Tony keeps getting kidnapped by bad guys. Each time he comes back, either escaping on his own or getting rescued, it's Steve who gets emotional about it (Tony is pretty much used to it by now) So Steve follows Tony around like a guard dog and Tony does his best to soothe Steve's anxiety. You know, with sex.

Taking care of SIR was a priority to JARVIS. Unfortunately, the invasion had reduced his well-being to below even the relatively low standards that SIR himself had set. Fortunately, even with privacy protocols making it rather more difficult, JARVIS is resourceful enough to find a solution that should have favorable results.

Summary
Tony was coping fine.
Well, fine apart from the fact that he had well and truly pushed himself to breaking point, both mentally and physically. But it was ok, Stark men are made of iron and he didn't have time to fall apart. His team needs him. And he can't let them down again. He has to stop being a failure. If he just worked a bit harder, things would all be ok. Right?!
...
Or the one where Tony Stark is being his usual self-destructive self, and it takes Steve causing him to have a panic attack in the middle of a debriefing for the team to realise that perhaps, Ironman isn't quite as indestructible as he would have people believe.
