    i have rules to follow when we're long-distance like this, and it helps a lot. It's not that i don't miss Him anymore, but when i'm being obedient to His orders it feels like He's here with me even when He's not. i've had rules for a while, but He likes to spring new ones on me every so often, just to catch me off-guard (which i love, ngl, it's in our contract and everything). He hadn't in a long time, for a bunch of valid reasons i won't go into.

    He told me He loved me recently and of course i said it back, so we both decided it would be appropriate to update our contract. i suggested we wait to do that until we went back to long-distance, so we'd have something to look forward to that would make the goodbye less painful. He looked at me like i hung the stars and kissed me until i was dizzy. There were tears in His eyes when He called me His clever, perfect Boy.

    Still. He wonders, sometimes, about what it would look like to push things a little bit further, apply more structure to what they did. Shane loves rules, after all. But the flip-side of Shane's natural urge to please is that he tends to go along with anything Ilya wants to try. Ilya knows that if he put rules to Shane, told him not to touch himself without permission, maybe, punish him if he did--Shane would let him, probably. And if it stopped there, confined itself to the bedroom, Ilya would have maybe asked Shane about it already. But once he had that little bit of power, he isn't sure he'd be able to stop himself from letting it bleed into everything else.

    So he keeps himself in check. Keeps his 'orders' simple and sexy and applicable only in the moment, keeps any force on the lighter end of painful. But, fuck, when Shane gets like this? It is very hard for him not to do something about it.

    Set sometime in between HR and TLG, Ilya does his best to give Shane what he needs.
