Summary
Grian wasn’t sure when his ears had started ringing – it felt like they had been at it for a while now, but with no other sounds besides his breathing it was really hard to tell.
The knocking at the door certainly wasn't helping either.

Grian got up – quickly exiting his room, and walking up to the door to take a look through the peep-hole.
Scar was there – Scar was there, and holding a translucent box of fresh-baked cookies.

After a few hours on his portable earth thinking machine, Rocky eventually closed the lid and sat there above Grace, just watching.
He watched his lungs pull in shallow breaths of oxygen.
He watched his weakening heart pump blood through his veins.
He watched his empty stomach and intestines atrophy.
He watched every lingering sign of life, just like he's watched them slowly leave his mate little by little, every night for the last four earth years.
That night, Rocky came to the conclusion that he didn't believe in any sort of ‘God’ either.

Summary
Eventually Pure Vanilla’s voice softened further. “And there’s the mistletoe, of course. People hang little sprigs of it above doorways or arches. If two people stand beneath it together…”
This caught Shadow Milk’s attention, his gaze drifted upward. Above their bench, woven into the lantern-lit arch, hung a small bunch of dark green leaves and white berries, tied with red ribbon.
In all light, he had noticed it there from the start, but he figured it was more decoration people did for the Festa. He didn’t think it held any more value other than that.
He pointed, questioning. “Like that?”
Pure Vanilla’s eyes went wide, it must have been his first time noticing it there. He looked quickly back at Shadow Milk, cheeks coloring deeply. “Yes. Exactly like that.”

Shadow Milk gets saved by Pure Vanilla from a trap and end up being brought back to his cabin. This results in him having to hide the being he truly is.

Siren snorted. “No. I’m just here to order some food.”
“Wh-What about him?” The cashier asked, glancing at Tommy. “Did you- did you kidnap him?”
“I mean… yeah, let’s go with that in case this ends up on the news,” Siren shrugged, looking back at Tommy. “I kidnapped you, right?”
“Yeah, sure,” Tommy agreed, knowing that if they said he was kidnapped, it would keep people from getting suspicious of why he was seen in public with Siren. “Anyway, can I get the chicken nuggets happy meal, with a coke?”
or, how Tommy—who is not a hero, or a villain, or even a vigilante—saves the life of one of L'Manberg's most feared supervillains, and accidentally ends up becoming the resident doctor for every supervillain in town (and maybe gets a family along the way too).
