Gem loved the easy bliss of evenings like this, dancing in the big ballroom with Pearl. Oh, her Pearl. The way her eyes sparkled under the big chandeliers and the soft brush of her hair on Gems collarbone as they swayed to the music.
It was a soft piece, slow and steady. Both their steps were a little clumsy and they weren't exactly on beat. The soft clinking of her ratty leather boots and Pearls worn soft work shoes on the shiny floor accompanied them like a heartbeat.

Luka scanned the crowded room, furnished with little round cloth covered standing desks and people drinking champagne, for her face. He eventually saw her face in the crowd. She was wearing her golden dangly earrings that bobbed up and down while she talked and she was smiling wildly in the camera of an interviewer. It wasn’t her genuine smile though, the one she only put on in late evenings spent on their couch. The ones he could best see in the hallway mirror through the doorway.

Thalia did something, he didn’t think was even possible, she smiled more. The slightest glint of mischief sparkled in her eyes as she turned to Leo and asked: “Does he still chase birds?”
Leo doubled over with laughter. “Nah. But I’m like, really sure he wants to. The amount of times I’ve seen him stare at random birds, like some ancient urge inside of him awoke, is insane!”
“Dude!” Thalia was audibly laughing now too. “He actually ran into a glass door once, trying to catch one!”
Jason was pretty sure he’d actually prefer if Lycaon came and ate him on the spot, than to have Thalia to continue that story. Still, seeing two of his favourite people so happy made him smile like a maniac.

Ah, just expenses? "Not much," Olruggio says, stepping around the counter to lean against Qifrey's side, arm wrapping around his waist comfortably. "I got a good deal."
Qifrey relaxes some. He turns his face to nuzzle against Olruggio's neck and he leans his head back in response, giving more room for Qifrey to press against his pulse.
"Oh dear," Qifrey sighs, turning his face to rub his cheek against Olruggio's cloak. "I'm afraid I have a secret to tell you."
