Keith has always dreamt of the night sky. He floats in it, drifting aimlessly in the liquid night. There are lions there, not the wild lions he would occasionally see hunting prey just past his territory, but colorful and well groomed lions. They pounce and play together, and with Keith too. Just not the black one, their Alpha, Keith’s Alpha. He is too old and prideful for anysort of cub play, but he doesn't mind. Keith walks up to him eventually in every dream. They hunt and groom like mates do.

My guiding stars in the night. The lion would nuzzle Keith’s red fur and stare deeply into his eyes.

In the city, there was no one who didn’t know about the bogeyman.
More specifically, even with all the magic flowing in the walls of each single house, there was no one who didn’t fear the abomination. Justifiably so, as the spawn of the devil came to abduct people and left nothing – not even bones – of them, if not streaks of dark ash and a black gooey substance all over the place of interest. Which, creepily enough, wouldn’t come away with anything known to humanity, and was the reason the houses of taken people had to be eventually burnt down.
The bogeyman was certainly not a mere legend to scare children, and that much was clear. There wasn’t a single citizen who hadn’t seen the sign of his passage at least once in their life: a neighbor, a poor child not that far, sometimes even a coworker. Word spread fast when the darkness came to take someone.
So no, the creature certainly wasn’t a mere tattler, but, as Jongho’s mother would say:
