All in all, perhaps not Wyll's cleverest moment. He just needed to find a pothole. A grate of some kind. Something that would get him back out into the open world, where someone might see him and help. It would be wonderful if his vision would stop going grey at the edges, and if his feet worked like how he told them to. He just needed…a little rest. A bit of a sit down, then he’d be right as rain. He slid down the wall, breathing through his nose.

Shen Qingqiu, his lovely cheeks stained red, carefully takes the mysterious flower from his hands. His eyes sparkle, and Liu Qingge’s breath is punched out of him. Liu Qingge doesn’t know what’s so special about it, but if flowers get that kind of reaction from him, then he would gladly uproot a whole meadow just to see that smile again.
“I accept.”
It’s a flower, and nothing more. But Shen Qingqiu looks at him like he’s brought the greatest gift of all.

Summary
“Castiel’s deal required him to be happy.” Jack continues, encouraged by Dean’s forced calm, “What made him happy? What could have, in that situation?”
Dean can’t understand why he’s asking. Sam has the same question, it’s so clear in his eyes every time the subject has come up, but he’s at least accepted that it’s just a detail. That he doesn’t need to know. That Cas was his friend too, but that moment belongs only to Dean.
But Cas, more than Dean, more than Sam, Cas was Jacks dad. So Dean reframes the question, turns it over in his mind until the edges are less sharp and the shape looks much more like himself, fours years old, asking why his mum hadn’t survived that fire.------
Or: the world is saved, but Cas is still dead. Dean struggles, Sam rebuilds, and Jack has plans for a better world.
And somewhere far beyond their reach, Castiel wakes up.

Gabriel’s instinct was to march right up to the angel—former angel—and demand to know what happened. Or, more to the point, what the Winchesters did, because Gabriel would bet his third left wing that they had their massive hands in this one way or another. But he didn’t march over there at all. Instead he weighed the pros and cons of buying red or black licorice.
