Or, William murders a nobleman who had been practicing ritualistic curses on the lower class, only to become cursed himself and turned into a cat.
Luckily enough, Sherlock just so happens to find him at the crime scene.

After finally getting into the rhythm of working and living together, Sherlock and Liam find themselves challenged by a faceless monster who leaves only death and destruction in their wake. Both their wits and their morals will be tested as they go undercover in pursuit of justice for those left devastated by the seemingly directionless violence, all while trying desperately to understand the steps of the fledgling dance between them. Sherlock barks out a short, jubilant laugh, sliding his hand into his jacket pocket to retrieve one of his cigarettes, placing it between his lips before returning for his matches next. “Liam,” matches located, Sherlock lights up his cigarette and takes a long drag, exhaling the smoke unhurriedly towards the window next to him, “It is a true pleasure to have ya aboard.”
~After the events of Vermissa, William is ready to begin his new mission under Pinkerton Detective Agency. Side-by-side with Sherlock and Billy, they agree to investigate a series of seemingly random attacks on a garment factory in the warehouse district that have recently escalated. All while trying to navigate not only his new role as an official detective on the other side of the law, but his burgeoning feelings for the detective who saved his life.

A guide to courting for, ah, individuals specific to Nod-Krai and Snezhnaya? It’s practically a trove of information, Sir Varka! Really now, it’s only because you’re my most loyal, most esteemed, most valuable customer that I can afford naming such a low price.”
Or: Varka gets swindled into buying a Fae courting guide, written by a human for other humans. He's also forced to come to terms with his own feelings regarding a certain Lightkeeper (who might or might not be Fae). Shenanigans ensue as he attempts to follow this dubious yet somehow effective guide to the very end.

Varka invites Flins to the Windblume Festival without telling him that the festival is the most notorious courting ground in Mondstadt. Somehow, everyone already knows what they are to each other—except them.

He’s so pretty, what the fuck, Varka thinks, and promptly runs face-first into the biggest gravestone that he has ever had the misfortune to come across.

On his way to Nod-Krai, Varka receives a letter with a strange request. A potentially dangerous entity has been wreaking havoc on Nod-Krai's land despite its involvement with keeping the Wild Hunt at bay, and for some reason, they believe Varka is their last hope.
Personally, Varka doesn't think he can help much. But the snow leopard that keeps showing up and the pretty man that keeps saving his life might hold the keys to Nod-Krai's mystery.

The sensation of bare skin caressing the steel frame of his lantern - of him - sent a violent shiver through Flins, who felt it as if Varka was sliding his hands along Flins' naked chest up to his shoulders. Flins' shiver was visible as a spasm in the fire, a little earthquake of emotions that couldn't pass unnoticed.
"The light source is sensitive to touch?" Varka mused in a low voice, so close to the truth and yet so far away from it. "Impressive. And the body is sturdy, but slim. Just like its owner."
Shouldn't you know that it's because we are one and the same? , Flins lamented quietly.
Or: Varka stumbled over Flins' lantern and indulged his curiosity. Little did he know what his touch would do to Flins.
