“So Megumi,” Yuko mused, stirring sugar into her tea with gentle clangs of her spoon, “You’ve been in the club for about three months now. How are you liking it?”
Megumi took a long, slow sip of his own tea as he considered what to say in response. It was pretty obvious that every ear in the room was pointed in their direction. Sukuna and Yuuji were suddenly super interested in the finger sandwich table, Satoru and Nanami were silent as they rearranged the already clean tea table, and Yuuta and Toge-senpai were inching closer with extremely obvious shifts over on the couch they were perched on. Even the women surrounding them were keyed in too.
“Well, it’s definitely been an experience,” Megumi started, searching for the words.
“Is that a good thing… or a bad thing?”

“Come on Ieiri - a life that needs others to die to live is hardly a life at all,” Suguru sighed, embarassed at how macabre and poetic being so close to death made him, “Will the tea help?”
“It’ll prolong the inevitable,” Shoko said a little bitterly, “Is that what you want?”
“It’s all I can ask for." Although with certain blue eyes and long legs spinning around in his brain, he desperately wished he could ask for more.

“Why? Because he’s stuck listening to Nobara’s lesbian rants and too nice to tell her to shut the fuck up or because half of his friends were brutally murdered in a gruesome, unsolved killing spree?” Megumi asked, tightening the straps of his backpack. Tsumiki sighed and turned to start walking towards their sixth period English class.

“Unfortunately. When I came out to them - or well, was forced out kinda - the only way they said they’d keep supporting me is if I find a nice, respectable fiance.”
“Wow. Fuck them.” Suguru expressed as genuinely as he could. Gojo just smiled wryly.
“Yeah,” he sighed, “But they're paying for my doctorate and supporting my little siblings so I kinda have to play nice for the moment.”
“That blows,” Suguru commiserated, “Seriously.”
“It does. It also means that I have four more dates - with Ryomen Sukuna, Mei Mei... something, Nanami Kento, and Naoya Ze'nin - all lined up for me like I'm a princess up for auction and I am dreading every. single. one.”

“Can you not just sit there and bitch?” Bill asked and Eddie raised his hands in question.
“I didn't say anything!” Eddie argued. Bill rolled his eyes, shoving popcorn in his mouth.
“You’re been making dumb faces this whole time. I can practically hear the judgment rolling off of you.” Bill scolded, “There’s some funny stuff in here, if you get over yourself and... well, parse through the bullshit.” Eddie laughed once, loud and unbelieving.
“Bill, unclench. Eddie’s allowed to not love Richie as much as you do,” Audra said calmly, through a mouthful of Doritos, “I mean, the guy did just make a joke about dick-hole vaping.”

Like I know I’m not ancient or anything, I’m not even thirty yet, but its really discouraging. I actually meet someone I could see myself connecting with, which hasn’t happened since… YOU, and he’s already taken? It just feels like I’m starting off on way the wrong foot.”
