Things are changing for Riku's friends...infuriatingly, he seems to be the only one who notices, even as Kairi and Sora get closer and closer, with him on the fringes. Or that's what it looks like...at the very least, what it might become. Desperately, unthinkingly, Riku makes up his mind: he's going to pick a star-shaped fruit off an angularly-challenged tree and he's going to share it with Sora before it's too late.
Unluckily for him, he chooses to pick a paopu fruit the same night as someone else.
But no worries...Selphie has a plan sure to guarantee they all come away happy.

Riku is an Earthshaker, part of a biker brotherhood forged in the dusty byways of Destiny, to protect each other when nobody else...
Well, it's actually much less impressive than that. He grew up with too much money and not enough people and the biker gang seemed mysterious and adventurous, so why not try his luck?
Life with the Earthshakers is hardly exciting, but Riku makes a friend for the first time in 18 years. Axel is chummy, charming, and chaotic in equal, fiery measure, and he turns Riku's stomach as much as lightens his spirits. Take, for example, a spontaneous road-race against two mysterious strangers just in from the great Who Knows Where? Axel eggs Riku on in the spirit of competition, but when the race totals the bike of the smiley, be-necklaced stranger, Sora and his brother are promptly stranded in Destiny, and Riku responsible for them both, to everyone's frustration.
Still...there are worse spots for a detour. And Riku has been starving for company.

In May 1984, Billy is induced to take Max to see "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom". He doesn't expect to like it, and he doesn't, but he forms a weird, sentimental attachment to one character anyway: singing, screaming nightclub singer Willie Scott. He'd take the time to unpack this, but his life is pretty quickly uprooted, and their nightmare of a blended family gets transplanted to dusty Hawkins, Indiana (no relation): the Malaise Capital of the Midwest.
The move to Hawkins forces Billy to face some things he'd sooner ignore. Why he's so rankled by swaggering Big Man on Campus "King" Steve Harrington, why his erstwhile sister's new friends put him on edge so much, and why his two-person fanclub...certified gossipy snipe Carol Perkins and freckled pint-sized hellion Tommy Hagan can't seem to get enough of him.
It's slower here, emptier, and with no shortage of time to think about the things that made him what he was and the things keeping him from becoming whoever it is he's supposed to be...whatever those are.
In the words of the Indy Girl herself: "Anything Goes".
