Summary
Angel looked back at his blank resolution.
He didn’t know what to put. There hadn’t exactly been a lot of stability in Angel’s afterlife. The only constant was Valentino, who Angel would not call stable by any stretch of the imagination.
He had hopes, sure. There was this new thing with Husk that he hoped would last. Ever since Christmas, they’d been inseparable outside of work hours. Husk had spent every night in Angel’s bed. But nothing good ever lasted long in Angel’s experience. He couldn’t promise that it would still be there the next time New Year’s Eve rolled around.
He glanced over at Husk again, where the cat was folding his paper up, making some quip to Niffty who had folded her own resolution into a miniscule paper crane. No matter how things went down, he supposed there was one thing he could try to resolve to do in the new year.
‘Make Husk happy,’ Angel scribbled onto his paper, folding it quickly before Husk could see, and dropping it into Vaggie’s bowl.
He just hoped he could make it come true.

Summary
Angel had been keeping count lately. Husk always served him seconds, sometimes thirds. Sometimes fourths. With sugar rims and whipped cream and chocolate drizzle. And sometimes he even gave Angel a bowl of cherries all to himself.
It felt like hope. Like encouragement. Like Husk saw what Angel was doing and wanted more.
But the longer Husk danced just out of reach, the more it started to eat away at Angel’s nerves, and he wanted someone to fuck into his holiday-themed throw pillows, dammit!
So Angel made the plan when Charlie brought down the decorations for the holidays, and he stole the box of mistletoe. He’d discreetly hung sprigs of it everywhere, hoping to catch Husk beneath one at some point, but the stupid cat hadn’t left the bar long enough for Angel to hide one there, yet. And unfortunately the bar was Husk’s primary home, even more than his room.
But one of them had to make the first move, goddammit! Angel was going to kiss that cat on Christmas or die trying!

“So what?” asked Husk, arching a brow. “Isn’t that a good thing?”
“No, it’s not a fucking good thing,” Angel snapped, jerking his head back to level. “It means I’ve got three separate Thanksgiving dinners tomorrow.” He blinked, then counted on his fingers. “Shit, four. Velvette has me on some fucking holiday promo shoot with food.”
“Five,” said Husk, and Angel blinked again.
“What?”
“Niffty,” said Husk. “We RSVP’d–”
“Fuck!” Angel dragged his hands down his face, all four of them. “Five plus…shit, Cherri and I always do a pregame. Fuckin’ six Thanksgivings in one day. My stomach’s gonna fuckin’ explode.”

Level Fourteen - You give up on gardening. Leaning over is simply too difficult with a belly like yours, and nature always provides.
Level Seventeen - You are thicker than the oldest tree you care for. Logs no longer make suitable benches, because your backside spills over them like molasses on a leaf. You do not mind; between your fat and soft moss and mushrooms, you aren’t uncomfortable.
Or, for a growing druid, change comes with every level.
