The portal left its mark on Ford in more ways than one, Stan knows this. He's been through some less than stellar experiences, but things are better now! Ford shouldn't be so stubborn. Injuries are more important than keeping his favorite sweater on for whatever weird baggage he has around it. And if Stan has to force him to actually take care of himself, then so be it. In some cases, it can persuade a scientist to repopulate a nearly extinct population by copulating with its last living member.
