Summary
Harry Potter is being ignored by everyone who’s supposed to care, takes a fall off a ladder and wakes up in a hospital. With nowhere left to go and a deep mistrust of adult intervention, he escapes to London for a night where things, naturally, get worse. He’s got no plan, a bruised skull, and a wand he’s not allowed to use. What he does get is Severus Snape, pressed into reluctant babysitter duty by Dumbledore himself.

Featuring: Snape's POV. People making decisions for Harry without talking to him about it first. The Horcrux in his head influencing Harry's mind. Professional psychologists/mind healers doing good work. Snape using cannabis.
He would not go back to Privet Drive without bringing the law. He’d lose his temper and end up in Azkaban. Even with aurors at his back, he was likely to hex dear old Tuney into next week if he had to interact with her again. The fines would be worth it.

It isn't the stinging, burrowing, bamboo-shoots-under-the-nail like crawling of his Lord's magic. Not Voldemort's slow and torturous magic, polluting his mind with burning pains as he digs deeper inside, unrelenting. Nor is it the powerful, crushing, passionate rush of Dumbledore flooding him. His mentor and warden's grand magic, trying to shatter his shields until they were impenetrable. No, this attempt comes at him like a dart throw. It sails at him like a whisp through the air, hitting his shields with the force of a feathered pin-point. Leaving only a small hole in the surface of his mental fortitude. The magic is insistent, but all too gentle compared to what he's known.
(Severus Snape whump at the ministry. Written because I was always confused why the Order didn't jump Snape sooner. Please excuse my use of Magical Macguffins :/ )

His knees knocked under him, the grip on the sink tightening with a hiss as his legs protested holding him up much longer. Damn it all to hell.There was no way he was going to be able to manage undressing and getting into the tub without blacking out in the effort. Quickly, Severus had to negotiate which was worse - asking for help now or it being demanded later when his unconscious body fell to the floor, likely traumatizing his former student further.
“Miss Granger…” he began, voice ragged, “I can’t… do this alone.”
