Winry isn't suprised to find him here, slumped against a tree just between Resembool and the forest. She was sad, sure, but suprise wasn't even in the realm of many emotions she felt when seeing him.

In 1904, an Epidemic swept across Resembool. Trisha Elric, the young mother of Edward and Alphonse Elric, fell victim to a particularly harsh strain, and lay sick on her deathbed for weeks as her children desperately attempted to conact their father, one Van Hohenheim, who had left home months prior.
It seems as if the clock is ticking down, and there is no hope in sight, as mail returns either unanswered or bearing no word on the location of Van Hohenheim. As the Mother is growing weaker and weaker, hardly able to wake herself up, all hope seems to be lost.
Until A Stranger with a familiar face shows up at their home, unannounced and unknown.

Unable to attain specimen due to RI-429 pregnancy. RI-429 retired to breeding. Transmutation will occur with JA-710 and specimen EE.
Mustang feels his blood run cold as his brain absorbs the words.
They were making chimeras.
