She, and of course Grace, had been flown out to some gala in London to coax a few more rich buggers to contribute to the project.

Eva Stratt was very cautiously hopeful. It was three days to launch and things were going well. Well enough that she was standing outside with Grace, watching the cloudy sky as they drank coffee together.
What if Stratt and Grace were just a bit too close to the explosion? What if that changed everything? Eva Stratt would have boarded the Hail Mary if she would survive the coma. What if she got her wish?
Or: Eva Stratt boards the Hail Mary with Grace, but only after things go very, very sideways.

Summary
The first thing Grace noticed about Stratt when she wasn't working was that she was longingly fixated on the sky. The second was that she never actually flew. He wasn't even sure he'd seen her wings not folded tightly against her back. She wasn't the only person with wings on the ship, far from it, but she was certainly the strangest about it.
Or; Grace and Stratt are part of the 30% of the population who have wings. Stratt's situation is made all the more complicated for it.

To any other person, getting sick in this situation was to be expected. Nobody can run on less than an hour of sleep every night for almost a full year, no matter how important they are. Unfortunately for Stratt, she is too important. She'd felt the growing pressure on her shoulders for weeks, and knew it was only a matter of time until she collapsed, but she wouldn't let herself rest until then. If she hit her limit, she could justify it.
Or; Eva collapses from overworking herself. Luckily, she has her saving Grace.

Grace is not brave, he's not the one who would run into danger, he's not one to take on challenges with very much confidence... until he'd drunk. Then he won't stop until he's won. Eva is not going to join their illicit drinking games, but she's not going to tattle either. Who would she even tattle to, herself? She knows they go on and as long as they show up alive the next morning, she isn't bothered. That is, until Dr. Grace shows up to her bedroom slurring, giddy, and pathetic. And fine, he's... endearing. Maybe he's growing on her. A little. Let's not go overboard.

“She punish you for it?” She lowered her voice, smiling conspiratorially, “call you Dr Grace as she did it?”
Dubois leaned forward, eager as if we were spreading gossip. My eyebrows furrowed, “No? It was just a nosebleed, what was she gonna do, put me in timeout? Fire me?”
Annie squinted at me amusedly, “no, not like, professionally.” I tilted my head, I had never known Eva Stratt to do anything unprofessionally. Annie continued, unphased, “I mean, like, later. In the bedroom.”
“Oh my gosh, I already told you guys we weren’t sleeping together.”
Dubois rolled his eyes, “Oh please, Dr Grace, none of us actually believed it. We all figured she’d kill you if she knew we knew, so we just played along. Besides, you had no reaction when we asked you to sleep with us, and so far you’re the only person that’s turned us down.”
OR
Ryland is having some trouble adjusting to the ship, the rampant rumours of his and Stratt's relationship aren't helping. in fact he would argue that they are actively making things worse.

Before his first battle, Loki cast a spell to ensure that, if he died, he would be brought back to life in a safe place in the body he had at the time of casting. He didn’t find a way to keep his memories intact, so after he survived the battle he discarded the plan as a childish impulse. If he thought about the spell at all over the next several centuries, he assumed that it had never worked, or had lost its power.
