“I’m scentless, not deaf.” Seth’s voice felt oddly flat without tone hanging in the air, and they glanced over to see him roll his eyes. It was odd to see a smile play across his lips without an accompanying wave of humor in the air.
“Didn’t realize you were there. Couldn’t smell you.” Dean shrugged, his own scent turning playful. Seth laughed. This kind of ribbing was common between the two of them, though they both knew it was based in the real distrust that Seth’s lack of a scent seeded in his faction. Seth fidgeted with the straps on his vest for a moment before beginning to pull his hair back into a bun.
“Maybe you guys could learn not to rely on scent so much. Maybe you’ll be a little less clueless when someone ends up breaking your nose again.” Seth glanced into a mirror to be sure his hair was up neatly. “You guys ready?”
