Summary
Varka’s blue eyes always catch him off guard. Lohen used to not like it, when Varka sized him up with that gaze. But as time went on, Lohen craved it. He wants Varka to always look at him, chasing him with his eyes, placing Lohen in the center of his regard. It is, he knows, a dangerous want.
What’s surprising to him is that Varka does indulge him. Cardinal Seamus and Anselm hate Lohen for it. Varka’s blatant favoritism has not gone unnoticed, it seems. But the man himself doesn’t seem to care much.
Or, a quiet moment between Varka and Lohen when Lohen is in solitary confinement.

Summary
Grand Master Varka is not a strict commander. Not careless, certainly, but laid-back. To fulfill one's duty was more than enough to be in his good graces. But it's hard for those around him not to notice just how much he lets Vice-Captain Lohen get away with.
Or:
Snippets of a developing (and slightly controversial) relationship through the eyes of those watching it happen.

Summary
Varka watched silently as Lohen's eyes scanned his own, analysing, until they widen ever so slightly as a sly grin slid its way onto his face. "You did notice," he said, elation growing with every whispered word. "You noticed and you drank it anyway. Do you trust me that much, Varka?"
Varka did, and perhaps he shouldn't.

Summary
"I am not sick, per se," Flins admits. "It is... an involuntary bodily reaction which comes after being submerged in a body of water for too long without reprieve."
A pause.
"There was... also rather a lot of Wild Hunt that needed dealing with, too--"
"Sir Flins, you just described the process of being sick."
