Summary
This is a series of long fics set around my Lackadaisy AU which features my OC, Ethan Kelly. Born to Irish immigrants in 1900 up in the wild mountains of Montana, Ethan has led a life full of tragedy. Now the sole guardian of his little sister, Riley, the pair leave Butte behind for greener pastures. However, Ethan is thrust into a whole new series of adventures when he finds himself the accidental employee to a struggling St. Louis Speakeasy.
These stories will follow Ethan's journey as well as that of the canonical cast of Lackadaisy from the Prohibition Era of 1927 until the post war years of the late 1940's.

Summary
(7/22/2024: All chapters are now edited and "1924" has now been added! Whoo! Most errors should be cleaned up by now and this story should be a perfect fit with its sequel.)
In 1927, Ethan Kelly flees the copper mines of Montana with his little sister, Riley in hopes of starting a new life in St. Louis, MO. However, Ethan is carrying more baggage than their meager possessions. He's lost his father, mother, and two brothers in his young life. If that wasn't difficult enough to deal with, Ethan is also having relive the Argonne Forest every night in his dreams. He hopes that a modest job at the Little Daisy Cafe will keep a roof overhead and food in the pantry for Riley and himself. However, a certain, eccentric tabby is determined to recruit Ethan for a higher purpose.
