Tifa’s face changes in less than a second. Facial features distort, not enough to look grotesque, but just enough to look unnerving, uncanny, wrong. Paler skin, brighter eyes in hollow sockets, sharp cheekbones. As her mouth falls open, milky white fangs glint in the dim light.
Cloud just stares, unsure about how to react.
”Alright, everybody back off.” Tifa’s voice is raised when she finally speaks. That eerie glow in her eyes is back, even more intense than before, and now he’s sure it’s got nothing to do with the light. Something about her very being is pulsating. Cloud can do nothing but shut his mouth, putting a hand on Zack’s chest, grabbing hold of his shirt, holding him back as he feels him tense, his alarm bells surely going off too.
Urban fantasy AU. A string of supernatural murders bring Tifa, a vampire, and Cloud, a hunter, together. They fall in love somewhere along the way. Rated M for violence and sexual content.

Ahsoka shrugs. “She doesn’t usually talk to anyone but me. So I guess it’s just surprising, really.” They watch as the bird gradually circles lower and lower until she lands on one of Chopper’s outstretched manipulators. “I mean, how much trouble could Chopper get into with a minor Force deity, right?”
