“Yes, he went to the US and then Canada”, Svetlana revealed. “He is here in Sochi, though, coaching Shane Hollander…”
“The pretty boy who did the short program for Canada?” The hockey player interrupted.

Cliff knew that this probably violated the promise he made to Roz when he had given him a spare key. It was for emergencies only. He hoped he kept his key privileges after tonight.
Because throwing a surprise pizza/movie night in Roz’s own home for when he returned to Boston from his father’s funeral in Russia? That probably didn’t count as an emergency.
But fuck it. Roz was his best friend, and while his father may have sucked, it’s still awful losing a parent. Roz should have his friends here, waiting to support him when he gets back.
The only thing that could make this better was if Cliff knew who Jane was, so she could be here for him too.

Ilya has been used to it for years, living in constant comparison with Shane. Ilya is frequently praised for his aggressive play style, tearing out onto the ice like a rabid animal and winning through brute force. He’s a loose cannon out on the rink, that’s why Boston loves him so much. Shane’s image in the media is much different.
