Blood stained the snow as Maedhros sheathed his sword, the bodies of his brother’s servants toppled to the ground, decapitated.
They had taken the children into the forest to die. It was midwinter, they would die to the cold long before starvation could take them. He stalked back to his tent, grabbing a couple extra cloaks and some rations he hastily stuffed them into a knapsack and hurried back outside.
Time was of the essence.

Summary
The air bites his skin as he lands behind the brush near a lit clearing. Akaza looks up at the torch-lit clearing, his citrine-sapphire eyes locking onto a human dressed in ceremonial clothing, the human’s eyes are covered by a cloth that has the kanji “flames” written on it. He’s barefooted on the cold hard ground, yet he moves to a dance that has no song as if the cold doesn’t exist.
It takes a moment for Akaza to process what he’s witnessing.
Dancing. This man is dancing in the bitter cold. He’s going to get sick.
OR
While on the hunt for the blue spider lily, Akaza witnesses the Kamado family's Kagura. Meeting the Kamados changes his whole perspective of the world and his absolute morals.

The moment everything changed was the moment Douma felt something within him. His chest was not hollow - his heart was not still... not anymore. Something in him stirred and he felt a small twinge of his lungs, filling him with foreign warmth. Suddenly, the world was vibrant, and at the center of it was her. She was called Kotoha, a young woman with dark hair, deep beautiful eyes, and a truly lilting voice that seemed to soothe the heavens in its softness.
The demon was transfixed. The baby in her arms wasn't so annoying in its cooing anymore, and her smile didn't seem fake as he'd assumed most were.
The day everything changed was the day Douma truly smiled for the first time.
