Summary
When Ryland Grace looks at the ocean there is an insatiable need to know. So little of the ocean has been left unexplored. Humanity turned its attention to the stars, leaving the ocean to sit, ignored. In another life, Grace’s scientific affection might have been drawn by space aswell. But all Grace can remember wanting from the time he was very young was to understand the deep water at the edge of the world.
So, when Eva Stratt walks into his classroom one day, with news that thousands of species of flora and fauna in the ocean have begun dying, he couldn’t resist following after her. Turns out when you write about the possibilities of intelligent life in the ocean and get kicked out of your field, you end up getting noticed by important people.
