It had been years since he’d heard that voice. At least not through a recording of a dated voicemail message that he refused to delete. But that voice sounded like the one who haunted all his nightmares and whispered to him in his dreams.
It sounded like Hailey.
It sounded like Hailey in trouble.
He broke into a run, he was unarmed and knew nothing of what he was running into but if there was even the slightest possibility that Hailey - his Hailey - was in distress, he had to get to her.

Summary
He should have known better than to let his mind drift, especially in the heat of a battle because before he could blink, a cold blade was pressed against his throat and a figure stepped out of the darkness.
‘Want to tell me what you are doing aboard my ship?’
There was no other words for it, the woman with her blade pressed to his neck was gorgeous.
But there was something more.
The blue eyes, so close to the colour of the ocean but with a lightness to them, like the water in the shallows, were familiar, like Jay had seen them somewhere before.

Summary
‘I’m sorry Jay,’ she said, breathing the apology out into the air that was getting thinner by the second.
‘It’s not your fault Hailey,’ he said, sliding down the wall to a seated position where it met the floor, resting his head against his knees.
She appreciated him saying that but it was a lie, it was completely her fault they had ended up locked in an airtight bank vault, with a limited supply of oxygen and no way to contact any of their team to let them know where they were.
It was her fault they were about to die.
