Summary
Between the yearning, sleep deprivation, and overall lack of taking care of himself, Sharpness hasn’t been having a GREAT time the past week.
All of this comes to a head when he just barely escapes a 2v1, and amidst the blood loss and sickness he’s worked himself into, his dying brain decides to conjure up a hallucination of his ex-teammate to take care of him. The one whom he had no right to be so painfully in love with.
“No Sharp, I’m real.”
That’s exactly what a hallucination would say.

Summary
Everyone has a soulmate. A black mark will appear somewhere on your body the moment your soulmate is alive.
This did not apply to Scott Goldsmith. Hundreds of years ago he and fellow vampires would giggle and talk about soulmates and spending eternity with them, but he didn’t have a mark. This didn’t upset him, he’s never needed a soulmate to have fun.
Then he wakes up after a six hundred year slumber and soulmates are very rare, almost a myth now to humans.
And on Scott’s neck now lies a mark in the shape of a black rose.
In other words, Scott and Avid are soulmates. What could possibly happen when one of them find out about this OBVIOUS mistake?

Summary
Unsurprisingly, the bat that transforms is Pyro.
And Scott briefly wonders why he knew that just from the bat form, seeing as most bats are identical, especially for the newly turned. The only things that really differentiate vampires in their bat form are very small things like how they fly.
He must be spending too much time around the coven. He’s starting to pick up on irrelevant mannerisms.
In other words, Scott and Pyro desecrate a beacon alone together, I’m sure there's no thousands of years old repressed vampire feelings of fondness that said vampire wants to ignore having.
In other other words, Scott has to realize he is the fakest idgafer in all of Oakhurst.

He raises his axe into the air and Flux reaches a bare hand up and shouts, “Wait!”
