Summary
There is no denying Uldren Sov was a threat to the Sol system. He was a royal driven mad by grief with a silver tongue and a legion of infamous names to serve him. Yet beneath it all, he was still a human who would have done anything for his beloved sister. Beyond his Darkness lie an undeniable humanity.
Guardian Fazia brought an end to that humanity with a lone gunshot that echoed back to her in the timeless vacuum of the universe so long later. She watched the light dim in his eyes and let his last words steal her voice. Was the vengeance worth the trauma? She wanted to believe it was. Eventually the memory of those amber eyes would fade and she would move on.
The Traveler seems to disagree.

Summary
Completely rewritten pool scene from Chapter 3 where Max and Chloe's conversation turns into a naked, angsty mess.
Max is absolutely petrified to be vulnerable in the Blackwell pool after hours, despite Chloe's insistence on her safety. Yet, when she begins to strip herself, Max gains the courage to join along. Their conversation takes a quick turn, and the situation pins Max against her greatest childhood fears (as well as the pool wall). In order to submit to Chloe, she must confront her pent-up dread that has built up since her move to Seattle.
