The majority of what I’m thinking, what I’m now doing, had already crystallized inside me before I even left work today. There’s no murkiness or indecision about what this is: I’m following this man. Right now I don’t know where he is, and yet I’m trying to find out where he lives and go there. I need to go to him and…stay there. That’s what I want.

Summary
Astronaut Iwaizumi is forced to leave the crumbling Earth in a shuttle alone, hoping that the passenger-laden Travelers were able to leave first to escape the many invaders and the planet's end. He flies in uncharted space to nowhere, for nothing.
There are no Travelers out here. Only himself and his endurance against the infinite dark. And a pack of humanoid creatures that follow him. They and their smiling leader, never rebuffed by his defenses and weapons for long, endlessly return and circle the ship. The leader - brown-haired, brown-eyed, perhaps indestructible - watches him with awe and hunger. It salivates. Iwaizumi stares endlessly back.

Summary

Summary
The ruler of Aoba Johsai was King Issei Matsukawa, but visitor Takahiro Hanamaki somehow does not know that. When they meet, the king does not correct him. Hanamaki refers to him as a "butler" and he lets that go. He lets him into the castle. He lets him into the royal gardens and sits with him among the grand array of flowers.
Hanamaki offers him a rose and says, "Wanna skip work?"
King Matsukawa lets visitor Hanamaki take him down into the city during the spring festival, to skip work.
They have fun.
