Katara has always been a little petty, though she has been making an active effort to change this fact about herself. But sometimes, on bad days, she can feel the burn under her skin to just be mean.
It was one of those days.
It wasn’t unreasonable to move in with Suki– it probably would have been the best choice anyway– but she couldn’t lie to herself that the deciding factor had been knowing it would upset Sokka.
A tiny part of Katara felt guilty being motivated by Sokka’s pain, but a bigger part of her was just pissed because he stole her fucking husband.

Bumi had been sitting in front of a large mirror he’d taken from the hallway for almost an hour trying to fix his hair into a “wolf tail,” a hairstyle worn to mark a warrior in the Southern Water Tribe. Tomorrow he would be leaving Air Temple Island to become a member of the United Forces, something Bumi had been dreaming about since he was a child.
Katara was standing at the door calmly, Bumi was not sure how long she had been watching him. “Can I help you?”

On the surface the two were completely perfect opposites. When they were children, the village elders would comment on how this was meant to be. Katara was born on a full moon in the dead of winter, and Sokka at the height of summer, at noon. As they got older the differences between them only grew. If Katara could make beads, Sokka could braid. When Katara followed her heart, Sokka relied on the strength of his mind.Where Katara pushed, Sokka pulled.

Summary
Most benders are fine, most don't have to worry about the stories, the terror that lingers for all benders. That if they push too hard, too long at the gift that was bestowed to them, that the world will take it back. Every nation has stories of what happens to benders who go too far - they start to turn into the creature that taught them bending. And once you fully turn, there is no coming back; you are an animal forever.
But the amount of power you have to push through, for a long time to make this even start to happen is so ridiculous that it seldom happens. It is just a story to tell children.
What happens though when those children are the ones who carry the war and the fate of the world on their back?

When Zuko hands Sokka the bracelet, Sokka doesn’t know what to say. He takes the bracelet and looks down, before giving Zuko an awkward grin. “Wow so— lovely,”
He extends his hand back out to return the bracelet. “No, it’s for you.” Zuko says, now even more puzzled himself.
“For me?”
Or: Zuko’s looking for consort all across the nations. His eyes land on Sokka of the Southern Water Tribe, yet he begins to feel as if Sokka is rejecting every single Fire Nation courting tradition he’s throwing at him. He slowly realizes, maybe that’s the main issue.

Keith and Lance have had an on again, off again, type of relationship throughout their years. From the start of being classmates, to strangers, then companions in arms, to becoming friends, then finally lovers.
Until one day where it ends for good.
Broken hearted, Keith throws himself into his work. Runs far enough away to avoid the feelings that chases hot on his heels. Working any and every mission possible, if it meant outrunning the anger and sadness looming overhead. Angry with Lance's choice to quit Voltron, angry with himself for letting him do it. Just overall, angry.
Lance's decision to quit Voltron didn't come lightly. But he wanted out of the limelight, to return to Earth to relax and hide from the hungry eyes of a galaxy that views him as some hero. As some trophy to fawn over. He just wants to blend into the background for once in his life.
The only issue is, Lance's chance at peace was disrupted by a surprise pregnancy, and Keith's choice to run away makes it so he never realizes he has a daughter until years later.
And worst yet, Keith just found out in the worst way possible: told last.

Sokka loved the other alpha. He really did, but he had planned this proposal for a year. He had finally finished carving the pendant and getting it just right. He needed to claim Zuko. He wouldn’t let his partner ruin it. Sokka stuttered, “Well..well, I challenge you to a proposal kai!”
Zuko’s smirk was still on his face, “Sokka, that’s not a thing.” Then he thought for a minute, “But honor demands I accept your challenge.”
