“maybe not, but they can handle it. soldier’s got a biotic field after all, right?”
he appears in the doorway of the open ilios villa mizuki is huddled in not long after, a little damp but still smiling, like he was trying his hardest to get there as fast as he could while looking completely nonchalant about it. mizuki pretends he isn’t vaguely amused, or a bit flattered.
(he’s both, but that’s neither here nor there).
or: a joke that starts between himself and kiriko quickly devolves into something out of mizuki's control. though, he doesn't really mind if it means he gets the attention of a boy who puzzles him beyond reason.

The two of them seemed to be talking, which wouldn’t be weird if not for how Yoo Joonghyuk acted.Yoo Joonghyuk, the Supreme King, was known for his stoicness and curt responses. But here he was, talking to someone with full sentences. Even with the muted mic, chatters could tell that he was talking to the person fondly. The small smile on his face said it all.
...Any normal group of fans would chalk this experience up to a once-in-a-lifetime event and just thank the person for supplying them with a rare smile from their streamer.
But the Supreme King fans weren't normal fans."

Summary
Recovery is a two-way street. He’s learned this lesson himself time and time again. Recovery is clawing your way out of a pit until your nails are bloody and broken and you finally manage to get your footing, and then walking and walking and walking until you get somewhere better. The only problem is that every step feels like you’re about to slip and reaching out only does so much. Recovery is a two-way street because for every time you make the walk up there’s something else ready to show you how to turn around and push you right back down to the part where all you can do is crawl.
Doesn’t help, either, he supposes, when you’re hanging around and relying on the thing that fucked your well-being in the first place.
