    Max Land was unique among his peers at Easton Magic Academy. As a third-year student who had collected enough coins to participate in the recent Divine Visionary Candidate Exam, it could be said that he had significant potential, and a bright future ahead of him.

    However, he was also unique for another reason – he was Rayne Ames’ one and only best friend.

    And as Rayne’s best friend, he knew the Sword Cane better than anyone else.

    He knew that Rayne was motivated, powerful, and persistent in achieving his goals. He knew that Rayne genuinely liked his rabbits, and would prefer to speak using actions rather than words.

    Max also knew that Rayne had a particular fondness for a certain first-year student, and also, that he would never admit it out loud.

    And so, in an effort to help his best friend, Max enlisted the support of a chaotic group of Adler students, hopeful that one of them might be able to convince Rayne to finally accept his feelings.
