Johnny and V aren’t friends. That’s a fact. You don’t become friends with the parasite that tried to kill you the second he managed to manifest, yelling in your head, telling you you’re dying, slowly overwriting you until your soul’s gone and only his is left.
But they share her body, and just like he feels what she feels, hears what she hears, knows what she thinks and what she does every day, she can feel him too — not the same way, not completely. Just his thoughts, his urges, the pull of what he wants, because Johnny only gets control if she lets him.

Johnny is running out of time to find her. The moment he offhandedly commented on the fate of every runner being that they would fry themselves in their own chair was weighing on him heavily every day. Particularly now that two of the best Netrunners he has ever known are unreachable beyond the Blackwall, and trying to find V is like searching for a digitised needle in a virtual haystack.
He was not wrong, every Netrunner eventually took it too far, burned too bright, and then they were gone. Even Alt.
But this time, he needs to be wrong about V.

Waves crashing lazily on the shore in a slow rhythm, the warm light of the sun carressing his face, and then slapping him hard, red skin, burning and frustration, his features feeling tight and dry, cells flaking off his forehead, a cold, wet towel patting his face and soft hands applying lotion.
It's faded and blurry but it's his, his memory to treasure and cherish and showcase in glass. He hasn't thought about it in years, since before everything, before Jackie, before things got out of control and Night City swallowed him whole.
“Wanna go to the beach,” he says without opening his eyes. “Swim in the ocean.”

Her own mortality, however, has lost it's bite completely, having come face to face with it so much that the reality of it holds no power over her anymore. All that matters to her now is making it all worth something. To live and die on her own terms.
But when V is forced to face her mortality for what may truly be the final time, she struggles to accept that she no longer has any real control at all anymore in this devastating new reality of their mutually assured destruction.
And she hates him for it.
But as the edges of her and Johnny's minds and souls start to blur more into some strange new trust in one another, V finds herself in a constant battle between her fading will to fight like hell to regain some semblence of control back, and a creeping desire to just... let go instead. To allow herself to give in to that sharp, inevitable ache they both feel near her heart.

Summary
The Aldecaldos are full of secrets - trade routes, camp locations, how to find and intercept corpo shipments, oh and where Johnny Silverhand's body might be. Mikoshi didn't offer V the solution she wanted, telling her of her impending demise and Johnny's trip beyond the Blackwall, so she pulled him back into her body, and they set off to New Mexico to see if that rumor about Johnny's body yields them anything. Something to provide a remedy to their problem.
But, there are a few hiccups. Johnny isn't exactly on board with V's plan, V isn't happy that Johnny is putting up a fight over getting a second shot at life, and Johnny's body seems to be occupied by the biggest asshole the universe ever created. Fucking. Great.

The mold of the steering wheel against his hand, the recline of his seat, the glint in his eye, reflected in the mirror, everything.
Tommy Innit has been street racing for months.
But finding time to race is hard when you’re a foster kid, and it’s even harder when you’re in the hospital for four weeks. So as soon as Tommy gets discharged, he’s itching to get back into the racing scene. Unfortunately, things are made a lot harder when he’s forced into a new family that wasn’t even expecting his arrival.
Wilbur hates him, Techno’s apathetic at best, and Phil cares way too much.
