Bradley wakes up late on Tuesday morning. It's the third week of classes and he'd stayed up too late in the lounge with the other guys watching the game. His alarm should have gone off at 7:30, but he probably forgot to set it the night before. He wakes up to a pounding on his door at 8:50, and by 8:55 the world has changed.
Going to war. Uncle Wood says they're going to war and yeah, Bradley thinks to himself dumbly, that makes sense. But if the nation is going to war, his entire family is going with it.

Or: Bradley hasn't spoken to his family in a year, when he stormed out and never looked back. Now, the World Trade Center is in flames and his family is being deployed. Returning home is never simple, but maybe it can start with a phone call. -

An unlucky and extremely well-timed series of lazy errors led to Goose being wrongfully declared dead and waking up in a New York City morgue — left hurt and tortured by memories of a past he barely remembers. Mav’s mouth is dry. He aches for another cup of water. “Carole, tell me something, and don’t lie to me.”

“How bad does he look?”
Carole is quiet for a while. Then she comes around and kneels in front of Mav, taking both of his hands in her own. Her eyes swim with tears. “If I didn’t know any better,” she says, voice breaking, “I’d think he was dead.”

Summary
The Daggers go to the Hard deck for drinks and after watching Hangman and Rooster flirting they are getting sick of the two not doing anything about their feelings.
But when Rooster gets so drunk they need to get someone to come get him they aren't sure who to call. When they ask Rooster who to call he keeps asking for his dad.
With Goose dead they don't know who to call but Rooster doesn't seem to mind the delay in getting sent home as he fall asleep on a frozen Hangman

since the group are now permenatly working togehter they have all made an agreement to meet up once a week at the Hard Deck, no excuses.
But after rooster invites Mav and Ice the daggers squad learn of the real realtionship between the two legendary pilots and their team mate, and Hangman begins to realise the the maybe should have kept his flirting with Rooster to a minimum in front of Ice and Mav.

“He flew an F-14, didn’t he?” Bob continues. His glasses slide down the bridge of his nose. He adjusts them, his hand trembling. “VF-1 squadron.”
Bradley finds his voice again. “I don’t want to talk about my dad right now,” he says. It hurts too much. He takes another swig of his whiskey and clears his throat, which is starting to tense up like something’s blocking it.
“Okay.” Bob glances over Bradley’s shoulder. “But, uh, are you sure your family isn’t Troubled? Because he’s behind you.”

Some people have Troubles -- hereditary abilities that can be either blessings or curses. They're activated by trauma and can activate at the worst times, as Maverick's did which led to the accident that killed Goose. But Goose might not be all the way gone...
