What would they do instead of investigate the secret of the author, because how would they know? (I obviously changed more than a few things and scenes just to fit the narrative that it’s a bunch of little kids. I don’t want to put them in weird situations, just yk, wholesome/traumatizing ones, yk? lol)

But the thing is, The Lich decides to possess Finn and use his reputation and trustworthyness in his favor. From the perspective of rising hero Fern ( Because I love him-) Watch as the story unravels from there, and it's up to him to save the multiverse. He makes and remakes a lot of friends along the way. But this story will not end without spilled blood... This is: Hosts. (Terrible description- Just know Finn dies and a bunch other characters die. BUT FERN AND NEPTR FREIENDSHIP FOR LIFE!!!)

Basically, Zim is competent and has a good disguise, cover story and etc, but then it backfires in the best way possible. Yeah. Slightly tweaked from Canon. I totally didn't use a transcript and added my own spin. Certainly not... But let's see where this change takes us... Who knows, maybe Zim will learn the true meaning of friendship or constantly have to live a double life so he doesn't get outed. Idk. Let's see.
