Jason had just wanted to know why he'd gotten two acceptance letters to magical schools. The best the Ilvermorny representatives could guess was that one of his parents registered him for Hogwarts, but his parents were piss-poor so that couldn't be it. Or at least, that's what Jason thought until he learned about Shelia Haywood and then well...
Dying from the Joker was not how Jason wanted to learn about magic, his birth name, or his real parents, but hey, there are worse things than death. Like the tormented soul attached to him like a parasite--yeah, he'd rather die than live that kind of half-life.

The only one to ever cry the death of Jason Todd was none other but the one who bred him: Gotham City.
Gotham brought him back once, her favorite child, so he could grow up to be the one protector of the lost and the forgotten. A different kind of hero than his father.
So, as to repay the unfairness of the child that gave his all to the city, Gotham listened to the last wishes of his heart. Even if that meant altering the course of history.
Just this time, Gotham would make sure to fulfill the wishes of her favorite son for once. To give Jason the justice he deserved.
