Summary
When Grace gets seemingly teleported by means unknown into the SM-13 right as it was nearing The Light, both Simon and Grace have no idea what is happening. Grace knows he was supposed to be in his house on Erid, Simon knows this new guy cannot possibly be a hallucination, and Ava, upon hearing Grace ramble about theories for how he got there, knows that new guy is Smart. Could-Secure-Our-Survival Smart.
She orders Simon to bring Grace back to the surface, and thus begins Grace's ordeal in a starless universe.- Language:

This was so fantastic!!! I couldn’t put it down!! Got a glare from my manager for hiding and reading it like a teenager lol
Everything from their first meeting— to just the way you write Simon, which is, not a joke, my favorite!!! I loved the last part with Stratt because YESSSS listen to your teacher!
And it’s so funny I started reading before you were done and then I got to what I thought was the last posted chapter— and then you updated!!! My eyes almost bugged out of my skull

Summary
Simon wakes slowly, booting up one atom at a time. The first thing he registers is that he's pleasantly warm— not the suffocating heat of whatever iron lung they had sent him down to die in. The second thing he registers is the plushness of whatever surface he's lying on. There's no harsh metal boiling against his skin. He doesn't immediately open his eyes. His brain feels syrupy and full of fog all at once, and he finds it rather nice to just exist in this soft in-between. He'd done good, hadn't he? Was this Heaven? He died on that ship, in the mouth of a vengeful beast that couldn't recognize its own ghastlyness. Heaven was nice, Simon decided. He liked Heaven.
