She’d expected to be dealing with a version of Bucky with three years of life as a prisoner of war under his belt, but this version seemed to think the Howling Commandos were going to come barreling through the door any moment.
“What year is it?” Darcy asked slowly, a suspicion starting to form.
“What the hell kind of question is that?” Bucky asked. “Worst interrogation I’ve ever been a part of.”
“Humor me, soldier,” Darcy said.
“1945.”
“Shit,” Darcy muttered. “The power surge—”
The team doesn’t arrive on time, and Darcy and Bucky go through with the wipe, using the chair to remove all the Hydra programming and Bucky’s memories, but an unexpected power surge mid-process throws a wrench in their plans. Now they’re still on the run, this time with a whole new set of complications. An alternate ending to Order of Operations.

His brow furrowed, and he looked like he was doing complex equations. “You are pregnant?”
She narrowed her eyes. “I’m not sure how that’s any of your business.”
“Mine?” He still had one eye on the door.
“Biologically, but not conceptually,” she said.
Darcy Lewis was determined to do this whole parenthood thing on her own. No matter how charming her stupid baby daddy was turning out to be.

“I‒I didn’t reject you,” She forces out. She watches as the words sink in, his eyes trained on her, probably feeling a number of things but conveying none of it. Then he takes a deep breath and she swallows hard. Finally, he turns away from the edge of the roof to face her completely.
“Are you only saying that because you think I’m gonna jump or…?”
She blinks, surprised. In all honesty, she’d kind of forgotten about that part.
