Summary
Dipper Pines expects the summer to be like any other, exploring the forest and dealing with his family who clearly prefer his twin. The summer takes a turn for the dark when eldritch and demonic things start happening to Dipper. He's sure it's none other than the maniacal triangle and his worst enemy, Bill Cipher, recently escaped from his stone prison. Soon hatred shifts into something more as Bill helps him grasp the darkness spreading within him. But as his detest of his family grows as well as the craving for chaos, Dipper has to make the decision, remain in his human life or let the magic wash over him and lose control.

Despite the valiant efforts of the residents of Gravity Falls, Bill remained undefeated and the town went up in flames, citizens killed or frozen if caught out of hiding. The Pines family was the ring leader of the underground resistance and did their best to keep everyone, human and supernatural alike, safe in Stanford’s underground bunker. It only had enough food for 30 years for one man and even with half the town and forest dead or captured, there was still less than a year of food left for everyone.
Dipper, newly 13 if the laws of time had still applied, knew he had to do something. Something no one else was willing to do. Having studied under Ford since his return, he had been told the equation to the barrier in confidence. But somehow he managed to screw even that up and now he’s stuck soul bonded to Bill-fucking-Cipher, who’s a little too excited about all this. Great just his fucking luck. At least it’s a demon he knows, at least.
…is what he tries to tell himself to calm down, until he realizes that on the other side of his newly woven string of fate, actually isn’t Bill. Great. Just when he thought things couldn’t get any worse.

Wracked with curiosity- (and against his better judgment) Dipper makes his way down to Bill's chambers; finding the demon sweaty, exhausted, and chained to the wall.

Summary
Violent nighttime encounters with strange, powerful mystical creatures were practically routine to Dipper. It always went the same way anyways, didn't it? Dipper went out and did something stupid, Bill drags him back and is an unbearable arrogant asshole about it. They give each other the cold shoulder for the night until they wake up in each other's arms and begrudgingly ignore Dipper's lack of communication. Yeah, maybe they could handle it in a healthier way but Bill seemed to be doing fine.
But then one night after Bill drags Dipper's bloodied body back to the shack Dipper looks over his shoulder as he's sulking and realizes maybe Bill wasn't handling this as well as he initially thought he was.
