He could radio the Polar Tang, if he got ahold of the ship’s transponder snail. He didn’t need to explain the situation - not to them, never to them, they all knew because how could they not - his word would be enough to bring them back. And once they were within range he would get back on their submarine and fucking run.
But first he had to get to the ship’s communication - or, more accurately, he had to get to one of the communicators he knew Robin had hidden around.
She was nearly as paranoid as he was.

“What?” Cora-san immediately startled back, barely missing a beat as he tripped and fell on his ass. “Law, of course you’re free,” he said, face and voice much softer now. Except what he said wasn't true, not if he couldn't ask these questions. Not if he couldn't know why it was his life had to be like this.
“Then I want to know!” snapped. “I want to know the Will of D. and I’m going to find out.”
There was a moment where all he did was glare at a stunned looking Cora-san. At least since he fell he didn’t have to look up at him. He didn’t have to look down either, because even sprawled on the ground the tall asshole could meet his eyes.
And then suddenly, that shocked expression twisted into a downright sappy smile.
“Well, how am I supposed to say no to that face?”
