Summary
At the turn of his third decade, Mitsuki is forced to confront the fact that he'd really peaked at thirteen. It's all been downhill since then. Certainly, if he'd lived in the past, maybe things might have been different but in this age of peace, shinobi aren't needed, and there's no justification for breaking the rules.
Everyone sees him as a disappointment because they expect him to be like his... parent... but really, he's just an adequate lab technician. To top things off, his best friend is in the middle of divorcing the Hokage and won't leave his apartment, his other best friend is said Hokage, and his sort-of-girlfriend is breaking up with him to marry someone her clan can get behind -- someone without a history of insanity and treason lurking in his genetic makeup; someone who wasn't grown by a psychotic Missing Nin in a jar.

Presented for your enjoyment(?) here is some very silly Rusty x Brock MPREG slash written in response to a request on the anonymous kink meme. (Man, I loved that thing.) I tried to keep them IC as best as I could so it's more ho-ho-they-are-so-married as opposed to, er, hot business. It's a collection of little scenelets that would probably occur over the course of many episodes, all smushed together. It's like a bunch of sideplot stuff all in one place. Er. Enjoy? “… incinerated my prototypes,” he is saying as Viktor watches him; half-conversational, half-explanatory. “A few times, actually, by now. It’s like cat and mouse: I make them, they incinerate them … I don’t think they ever realised I had any other crystals or they’d definitely incinerate those, too.”
“Bastards,” Viktor says, seriously.
Jayce grins up at him again. “Yeah,” he says, “bastards. The whole lot.”
They look at each other oddly, both blinking. Then Jayce grins again, as though he is in on some sort of great joke that only the two of them are privy to. For the first time in a very long time, Viktor feels very aware of his mask standing between the world an his face.
Perhaps the cooling system is clogged again. He feels oddly warm.
Or: Zaunite shut-in Viktor hides in his lab and behind his mask, until a tipsy Academy drop-out stumbles into his life on a reckless gander into the Undercity. Something blooms.

What a lovely little AU! One where Viktor didn't go to the Academy in Piltover but he found Viktor anyway. Viktor is slightly more synthetic and very grumpy (read: shy). It's adorable.

After Hua Cheng disappears in a flurry of silver butterflies, Xie Lian waits for his return. Rumours whisper across the land. Crimson Rain Sought Flower has returned and is ruling over Ghost City. And he doesn't remember Xie Lian at all.
“Did daozhang think he could come here, flash his enchanted eyes, and pull one over on the Ghost King?” Hua Cheng coos.
Xie Lian’s teeth begin to chatter. “My enchanted…my…aha—”
“I have never seen a performance quite like it in all my long years. Daozhang must be very experienced in getting his way just by fluttering his long lashes. But is he truly foolish enough to believe this act will work on me? Does he think I will fall for his tricks?”

Wow, this took a trope I enjoy (amnesia) and built on that concept magnificently. With the amnesia affecting large swaths of people instead of just one person -- or so we think!
It was also a bit of a mystery -- the characters had to figure out who cast the curse to cause the amnesia in the first place.
It was really neat watching Xie Lian do what he has always done -- reinvent himself -- but this time, to reclaim his past instead of abandon it. To realize he has people he doesn't want to lose. To realize he has to confront his own feelings of negative self-worth, and dismantle the uglier side of the coping mechanisms he's used over the years to withstand terrible things.
Also watching Xie Lian reinvent himself as a member of Hua Cheng's security team was wicked cool.
