AKA: the author heard Gortash say "maybe we shouldn't have brought your daughter back", and ran with the implications, alongside the Ketheric-Isobel and Bhaal-Durge parallel.

Summary
In a better world, it goes like this:
Two sorcerors who are both spawn, but in very different ways, meet at night when the vampire-spawn comes on orders of its master. The vampire reaches for the Bhaalspawn, gets bit for his trouble, and a brief battle follows, with nothing in particular to note about the fight. (There is something that happens immediately after, where another spawn invites herself to the scene and two sisters reunite, but this is not that story.)
In this world, it goes like this instead:
A Bhaalspawn and a vampire spawn share a bed, and would that this were a comedy instead of a tragedy. The sorceress balances on the edge of reverie, for once close to resting, when she hears the faintest noise. She opens her eyes to a shadow above their bed, lunges with her fangs bared, but the vampire is faster, and grabs her hair, keeping her teeth away from him. She feels a sting in her shoulder, and then the pull of a teleportation spell.
OR: I enjoy "Cazador Goes Wrong / spawn!Durge/Tav" AUs so much I simply had to write my own. This fic stands as an AU to the series it belongs to.

Summary
An eyewall replacement cycle is a process by which the eyewall of an intense tropical cyclone may be slowly robbed of strength by outer rain bands forming into a new eyewall. This new eyewall saps the inner one, eventually causing it to collapse. This causes the storm to weaken temporarily, but it often precedes an overall increase in size and strength of the cyclone.
A Bhaalspawn becomes its Father's Chosen, and earns its second skin.

From the U.S. National Weather Service page of the Fujiwhara Effect:
When two hurricanes spinning in the same direction pass close enough to each other, they begin an intense dance around their common center. If one hurricane is a lot stronger than the other, the smaller one will orbit it and eventually come crashing into its vortex to be absorbed. Two storms closer in strength can gravitate towards each other until they reach a common point and merge, or merely spin each other around for a while before shooting off on their own paths. In rare occasions, the effect is additive when the hurricanes come together, resulting in one larger storm instead of two smaller ones.
In other words: stories of two storm sorcerors who reunite in Avernus, bound by a bloodline both arcane and unholy.
