Summary
About ten years ago I got really sick, the dying sort of sick. I was in a tremendous amount of pain and on a lot of drugs and they didn’t seem to be working that well. For six weeks I didn’t do much of anything but play the same dumb video game and work on this fic.
And then for some inexplicable reason I just stopped working on it.
I found it on my backup drive recently and decided it wasn’t all that bad for something written by a depressed person who was probably dying at the time.
The story is four parts, one one-shot and three novels. It begins in the spring before Yuuri turns 19. The story of the previous year is told entirely in flashbacks. This all seemed like a good idea at the time.

They were already cold when Dan Heng dragged their body out. He ignored the ache echoing through his body, along with the train car abandoned above them, set ablaze by whatever had hit them. It laid wreck among the ruins, and Dan Heng hoped them wouldn't get in trouble for touching, much less destroying, parts of what looked like the ruins of a city.
But that wasn't his true concern.
No, he could handle any locals ready to hurt him. He would be ready to take the blame for all of this.
It was them that he was concerned about.
Or, the train car incident was more tragic than what was shown.
