“You didn’t come home last night,” Athena points out, sipping at what appears to be coffee as Buck makes his way out onto the balcony. “I take it things went well?”
Buck winces, taking a seat opposite her at the table. “So… I might have chickened out on the whole ‘telling Eddie I’m in love with him’ thing.”
“Buck…”
“I know, I know,” he mumbles, burying his face in his hands.
“And here I was thinking you’d spent the night in his bed when you weren’t home by eleven.”
Buck slowly lifts his head. “Well…”
Athena snorts. “You’re kidding.”
“Friends can share a bed,” Buck says in an attempt to justify the situation. “Eddie and I shared a bed in quarantine, it’s not weird.”

Summary
Ever since the accident the only thing Buck gets up for has been the familiar sound of Eddie knocking on his door, and the bright faced boy that accompanies his father. Carla had been away for a week now, taking care of a sick family member, so in the meantime Buck was stepping in. Buck knows that realistically it doesn’t help with the pain. When his leg feels as if it’s collapsing in on itself or when the pain medication seems to just slip through without even an attempt at aid. When the pain gets so bad that he doesn’t know how to keep going. He knows that in those moments having Eddie and Chris around doesn’t actually reduce the pain or makes it go away. But boy does it feel like it.
__When a ballistic missile heads towards L.A Buck has to fight through the pain sustained from being crushed under a fire engine, in order to stay alive and save his loved ones, whilst also having to deal with a sexuality crisis.
